There have just been new projections on the course in the pandemic in the entire US and each state.

These are the best projections I have seen and contain both optimistic and concerning information.
Please take a look and let me know what you think and how good a job your state is doing!

Dear Jim,
Thank you for this blog. California looks good for beds and icu beds, but not so much on ventilators, but not as bad as other states.
Thank you, again.

Hi Jim,
I echo everyone else in thanking you for this blog. I’m curious about something you may or may not want to get into because it’s Monday morning quarterbacking. Without getting too political, I’ll just say that we know it took quite some time for the Trump administration to really mobilize to combat this virus. Those who are particularly critical say that had the U.S. taken measures months ago, we wouldn’t be where we are. If you feel like entertaining this question, where would we be if the administration had been aggressive in January? Since I have no expertise in this area, I don’t really know what was preventible and what was inevitable.
Hope you’re well,
Carl

Think there was significant blame on both sides. Fox/MSNBC/CNN News has many clips of everyone in either political party, including Gov Cuomo, saying things were under control as late as March 1st. Much initial criticism of China travel ban as well.
What everyone didn’t understand was the virus was already here since New Years, especially in cities like Seattle, NYC, Chicago and Detroit, where there were direct flights from China/Wuhan. It was infecting the healthy population silently, so when it was spread no one knew. Only in Seattle, where it happened to get into a nursing home, did the canary in the coal mine drop….
